The hotel in Singapore, with a beautiful view of the marina, is a very soft landing after a hard journey — hard in the sense that it is 18 hours long. Two movies, two meals, two naps, and still lots of time to spare.
More time in Hanoi later in the trip, but last night was just a one night stand. Our hotel is in old Hanoi which is, to put it mildly, overwhelming. 8 or 9 million people in Hanoi, all of whom are racing around on scooters. The guide said you need three things to drive in Hanoi — a good horn, a good set of brakes, and a lot of good luck. Times Square on steroids, New Delhi with narrower streets, Ubud with more motorcycles.
