Glaciers and mountains

Just to get rolling, I am posting some photos from our road trip in Alaska from 2005.  I know that some of you prefer photos with people in them (that would be Momo) but the only one I have is the back of Ira and his water bottles from our hike on a glacier.

The glacier photos were taken from a small plane out of McCarthy, a very small town in the St. Elias -Wrangell National Park.  The close ups of crevasses ( deep splits in the ice) were shot during a guided hike on the glacier in that park, we needed to wear crampons.  There are two photos of a “calving” glacier taken from a boat in the Kenai Peninsula.
